Hi Angela - the development of the new custom dashboard with its widgets and links to a variety of metrics and data sources will allow the building of action focused dashboards (and lots of other flavours too). Its currently on a limited alpha release but will be made available to all customers as a beta within the next month. So you can start to play with it and see how you can create your own personalised dashboards. The components you'll need to focus on actions as you described won't be there for the beta but will be added in over the coming months as we gear up for a full release.

Its certainly a great idea and I'm sure custom dashboards will help you achieve this.
